There are a huge number of stunning walks or runs right from the cottages.

We hope to help you make the most of your time by providing some choice route selections for you. This is obviously not an exhaustive list!

This short loop takes you over hill and down dale and will give you a really good feel for the area. Wear wellies if it's wet!

This route takes you via the Anglers' Rest pub and along the Monsal Trial to the Monsal Head viaduct before bringing you back along the valley to the cottages. If you'd like the GPX then here it is; https://explore.osmaps.com/rou...

This lovely 7km walk takes you from the cottages, along Cressbrook Dale (possible additional exploration of St Peter's Rock), via Litton and the Red Lion Pub, and then back to cottages along some quiet country roads.

This 13.5km loop direct from the cottages is a good choice for a hill runner, or walker with a bit more time. The first big climb takes you up the skyline visible to the south of the cottages. Enjoy
